Silence isn’t empty
When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, A Joy.
Today I have come to reflect on my meditation practice. I meditate every day morning and night for about 20 minutes. This hasn’t always been the case. It has only been the last 3 years that I have made it a daily practice.
The timeless and universal practice of meditation is the foundation of, and one of the doorways into well-being. In meditation, your attention is directed towards your breath, thereby allowing the mind to settle into the present moment and be still. This allows you to let go of every arising thought and sensation, leading naturally to clear mental awareness and profound inner peace.
Meditation has helped me to be fully present, less judgemental, and more accepting. It has helped me get back in touch with my own wisdom and vitality.
Meditation is not about some state, but about the meditator (ourselves). The practice of meditation provides a skill to cultivate and draw upon our inner resources to help meet all circumstances in life with composure and clarity. Meditation helps us wake up from the slumber of automaticity and unconsciousness, making it possible for us to live our lives in the present.
Starting small – for example 5 minutes a day can have such a positive impact on your wellbeing. It is more about consistency, than the length of time you set aside.
Your soul is always going to whisper the truth back to you, and if you try and silence its voice, eventually the whisper will become a roar. I encourage you to meditate, it is a chance to listen to your soul – its always talking!!
